Spring Art Festival
The spring Art Festival is just around the corner. It will be held April 26th featuring individual artists selling their original art, crafts, and photography. A creative art area, demonstrations and food will all be available. This will coincide with the opening weekend of the Hernando Farmers Market, and DeSoto County Earth Day! Hope to see you there!
Vendor opportunities are available for the Art Festival. Please email dac.desotoarts@gmail.com for application, information and booth pricing. Deadline for vendor applications is April 18th.

Back Porch Party
Join us the first Friday every month May-Oct for our Back Porch Party. Beer, wine, food, live music, friends, and guests. Free admission and cash bar. Of course, all the art displayed is available for purchase. Everyone is invited!

Kids Fall Art Night
Kids 5-12 join us for a night of creativity!
Kids will create art, complete fall themed science projects, and use their culinary art skill to create food art! We always have the most fun!

Craft Supply Swap
Our first community supply swap is here! Donate unused or gently used crafting supplies and fill a bag (or seven) with other’s donations. $10 entry fee, with donators and members getting an hour head start on shopping. Once admitted, everything is FREE!
No donations will be taken the day of the event. Please bring donations to the gallery the week prior during regular hours.
What to bring: Any art supplies or tools that are gently used or unused. This includes (but is not limited to) papers, pencils, inks, paints, brushes, canvas, sketchbooks, etc. Also, any crafting supplies are welcome in the same condition: yarn, fabric, patterns, photo equipment, easels, adhesives, etc.
What NOT to bring: anything moldy, smelly, dirty or super heavy. Also, no fabric scraps smaller than 5x5in, clothing, used stuffing/polyfill, tangled yarn (or string, ribbon, etc.). No hazardous materials such as oil-based solvents, house paint, or dried out paint tubes. Finally no household items - dishes, decor, etc. Decisions will be made at drop-off as to what we will accept.
Items not taken after the swap will be donated or incorporated into our classes/summer camp.

Painting Reindeer Watercolor Class
Kick off your holiday season with a watercolor tutorial that ends with a beautiful reindeer painting! Our watercolor teacher (Drucilla Creates…) is ready to teach you how to make this beautiful work, no experience is necessary! Adults and teens are welcome, and supplies are included in the price of the class.

Students will learn how to shoot in manual mode! After this session, you will no longer fear manual mode and will be able to create beautiful photos exactly how you want to!

Fall Art Festival
Join us for a small vendor market in celebration of the Fall season! (Well, Mississippi’s attempt at Fall anyway.) There will be local artists’ booths, face painting and other kids activities as well! This event will be held in the empty lot next to our gallery, at the corner of Commerce St. and Hwy 51. Embroidery for Beginners
Learn the basic stitches for hand embroidery!
We will also practice the stitches by creating a small picture.
This class comes with a take-home starter kit: fabric, small loop, starter pack of embroidery thread, needles, and a needle threader.

Water Tower Painting Class
This one time class with Drucilla Creates… allows the students to create a painting of the locally famous Hernando water tower! This is a great opportunity to learn painting tips from a professional!
No experience necessary and all supplies are included. 18+ only please.

August Back Porch Party
Join us for our August Back Porch Party! This event is to celebrate the opening of our August exhibit: teaching artists! Our featured artists are also art educators in the area. Free music from Tori Tollison, free food provided by Tea & Tisanes, and a cash bar. What more could you ask for for a summer night? See you there!

Every Monday evening this summer DAC is hosting kid’s art classes. Each Monday will be a new project for students to engage in and explore the Elements of Art and a variety of mediums. Kid's Culinary Class
Kids age 6-12 are welcome to come learn essential cooking skills! This includes proper knife skills, cupcake decorating, measurement, and reading recipes. Paint Your Date - Date Night!
We’re trying the viral trend of painting your date! On this date night you and your partner will paint portraits of each other without seeing what the other is doing! What a great way to spend time with a loved one (friend couples count too!). All supplies will be provided, and you are welcome to bring your own wine/beer. Summer Art Camp - Art Around the World!
Summer art camp for ages 6-12. June 10-14 from 8AM-12PM every day. First Baptist Church in Nesbit. REGISTRATION REQUIRED (check the store).

Ride for the Arts!
Join other motorcycles for a ride around DeSoto County! $15 per bike and $5 for additional passengers. All proceeds go to help with youth art camp!

Mother daughter tea time
Traditional high tea served with refreshments (sandwiches, pastries, desserts) and a variety of tea options. Registration required! Check the store to register.
